The solar park, located in Norddjurs Municipality and developed by Energicenter Nord, is being balanced and optimised by Reel, and provides the four companies with fixed electricity prices through their Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). 

Søby Energipark is expected to produce 53.7 GWh of renewable energy annually, enough to power approximately 12,000 households. 

Electricity at a fixed price

Through their PPAs, the four companies purchase a fixed volume of electricity from Søby at a fixed price. This reduces their exposure to spot market volatility, which can make long-term financial planning difficult, particularly for companies with significant electricity consumption.

A hybrid park in the making

Energicenter Nord plans to add a battery storage system to Søby Energipark in the future, expanding it into a hybrid solar and storage installation. Batteries improve the bankability of renewable energy projects by allowing production to be optimized so that electricity is delivered when demand is highest.
