There is no energy transition without Power Purchase Agreements
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are unique electricity agreements for companies that ensure the construction of new renewable energy projects.
The three big problems with 'green' electricity that we are solving
Today, 'green certificates' have zero impact on the climate
Using normal Guarantees of Origin (or 'green certificates') to claim carbon neutrality is problematic - and risky. That's why Reel offers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) as an alternative.
Our approach
Additionality
PPAs bring renewable energy to the grid, one solar and wind park at a time.
Traceability
Account for every kilowatt from your PPA and trace its origin to a wind turbine or solar panel near you - every hour of the day, week, and year.
Long-term partnership
This isn’t just a B2B deal: it’s a partnership. We’re committed to giving you clean energy and real savings for a long time.
Current system
No CO2 savings
The current certificate system does not add more renewable energy to the grid, and is zero-sum.
No transparency
The current certificate system is disconnected from time and place - a company in Denmark can claim zero emissions with certificates from Spain, regardless of time.
Not future-proof
The current certificate system is heavily criticised and under review. Don’t get stuck in an outdated system.
Normal 'green' electricity contracts come with greenwashing risks
It’s not just about leaving a bad taste in your customers’ mouths. Greenwashing is directly linked to customers taking their business elsewhere.
Our approach
We eliminate the risk
Brand yourself as a market leader with no strings attached. Rest easy knowing that your electricity from Reel is backed by the latest climate science.
We provide the reporting
Climate regulations for businesses are about to get more complex. Reel ensures your compatibility to all reporting frameworks.
We support your comms
PPAs and renewable electricity are complex. But don’t worry. We’re here to make sure you know your stuff, and can talk about it with authority.
Normal 'green' electricity contracts won’t give you the financial stability you need
With normal 'green' electricity contracts, what you pay depends on fluctuating market conditions and certificate prices. With Reel, you protect yourself from volatility in the market.
Our approach
Fixed price and the lowest on the market
No price fluctuations here: you get to enjoy reliability alongside renewable electricity.
Up to 10 years of no worries
When you work with Reel, you get a partner for the long term. We commit to providing you with clean energy for up to 10 years.
Diversification and hedging
Procuring energy from multiple PPAs (wind and solar) reduces your company's vulnerability.

Emissions are increasing and will double by 2030
Electricity is the largest source of carbon emissions worldwide. At the same time, global demand for electricity is growing rapidly. Although policies are being introduced to wean ourselves off fossil fuels, they aren’t moving fast enough. Companies have a meaningful opportunity to accelerate the renewable energy transition - so we can effectively mitigate the worse of climate change.
The renewable energy transition needs to be bigger and faster
The global scientific community urges the world to transition to renewables faster and at greater scale. Denmark has committed to covering at least half of its energy consumption with renewables by 2030. And by 2050, the country should be fossil-fuel free. We believe that Denmark can be even more ambitious in its goals, and live up to its reputation as a pioneer in renewable energy.
How you buy your electricity makes the difference
To date, only the largest 1% of companies have had access to electricity that makes a real difference for the climate. That needs to change, starting now. At Reel, we empower all companies — no matter the size — to mitigate climate change directly through their electricity consumption.
